What is Chip-Off forensics?

Chip-Off forensics is a high-tech method of extracting and analyzing data stored on flash memory chips. This method often allows the extraction of data from devices even if the device is damaged or the data has been deleted.

Training topics include:
  • NAND Flash Memory architecture
  • Alternatives to Chip-Off (imaging without destruction)
  • Making sense of an unstructured hex dump
  • Cell phone disassembly
  • Cell phone repair
  • Cell phone triage (when is chip-off appropriate?)
  • Removing the BGA chip from the PCB board

Cost

Training costs $3,200 per person.
